Perseid School, the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and Merton Music Foundation are working together to create some amazing music. This project will be an exciting collaboration that will see professional musicians working alongside children with special needs. It will involve co operation, teamwork, self discipline, experimentation, reflection and celebration.
The project is running across two years and will include a performance at The Royal Albert Hall in April 2015. We aim to create the same opportunities given to children in mainstream key stage 2 to learn a musical instrument as part of a whole class group (Whole Class Ensemble Teaching) with the players of OAE mentoring and supporting the Perseid pupils.
This blog is going to be a record of our journey and will give us a chance to share our music with a wider audience.
